David Bercuson, historian and Director of the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies has a newly released book entitled Our Finest Hour: Canada Fights the Second World War: First published in 1995 as Maple Leaf Against the Axis, Our Finest Hour has been completely revised and updated, with new chapters that reflect the latest research about Canadian war strategy at the highest levels. Congratulations to Dale Walde, associate professor in the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology, who recently won a Canada Award of Excellence, along with Golder Associates Ltd, from the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies. The award was in the community outreach and in-house initiatives category for the University of Calgary's Program for Public Archaeology, launched two years ago thanks to a generous donation from Golder Associates.
