Admissions are open October 1 and close January 15 of the following year. New students are admitted in the Fall of each year. There is no winter admittance.


Master of Strategic Studies

Our transdisciplinary 2-year MSS Thesis-based and new 1-year MSS Course-based programs we combine specialized academic courses in military and security studies with professional training designed get students ready to make a quick transition to careers in the defence and security fields or further graduate study. Optional post-degree internships are available through the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

PhD in Strategic Studies

Our innovative transdisciplinary hybrid academic-professional PhD program is geared toward working professionals in the military, defence, or security fields looking to upskill, reskill, or become independent policy-oriented researchers. This may include, but is not limited to, active military and police personnel as well as those working in government, the non-profit sector, and private industry. Students will draw on and further develop their professional experience and expertise in their dissertation research.
