Bring your family for a UCalgary Alumni exclusive guided tour of the historic First Nations site where Treaty No. 7 was signed in 1877 - Blackfoot Crossing, a National Historic Site of Canada.

Your morning will start in the Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park Interpretive Centre, which houses artifacts unearthed from the Siksika (Blackfoot) Nation. UCalgary associate professor and alumnus Dale Walde, PhD'95, will then guide you through the university's dig site and share the recent excavations of the Cluny Fortified Village, the only known village of its kind on the Canadian Plains.

Cost:$10 per person, which includes park fees and lunch

Bring water, sunscreen, bug repellent, hat, weather-appropriate clothing

Note: This tour includes walking across rough terrain with steep inclines and is, therefore, unfortunately not suitable for those with mobility challenges. This is a family-friendly event recommended for children eight years of age and older. One adult supervisor is required for each child under the age of 10.
