CEFR Examinations

German CEFR examinations at the A2, B1, B2, and C1 levels are offered by the Language Research Centre. In 2016-2017 there will be no German CEFR exams. If you are interested in taking any of these exams in 2017-2018, please fill in the registration form and submit it with payment to the Language Research Centre (address on form). French CEFR (DELF / DALF) examinations are offered by the French Centre. For more information see: http://www.ucalgary.ca/delf/.

Chinese HSK examinations are offered by the School of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures and Cultures. For dates and other information, please visit: https://slllc.ucalgary.ca/chinese/chinese-proficiency-test-hsk

Calgary Persian Library (CPL)

Since the beginning of 2016, the Calgary Persian Library (CPL), an outgrowth of the Iranian Graduate Student Association, has moved to the LRC. The CPL houses over 850 books, hosts regular readings, and welcomes authors and scholars. The Library is in Craigie Hall D401A, and its office hours are Tuesday and Thursday from noon until 1:00 pm and from 6:00 until 7:00 pm.  

  

Status of Languages in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary

We are pleased to report that the Faculty of Arts Council approved the Report of the Task Force on the Status of Languages entitled Learning Languages to Embrace, Comprehend and Contribute to Our World on April 8, 2015. We would like to thank the members of the Task Force as well as everyone who contributed to the Report.
