Language Acquisition / Language Pedagogy Research Equipment and Facilities

For research in language acquisition and language pedagogy, the LRC contains:

  • 3 wireless "smart" classrooms / learning laboratories (for the purpose of observing the learning process for classroom-based research);
  • a 35-place computer lab;
  • a sound booth for the development of audio materials;
  • a facility for the development of video materials;
  • observation rooms;
  • headsets with microphones; 
  • technical assistance and support;
  • potential office / lab space.

 

Psycholinguistic Research Equipment and Facilities

In addition to the equipment and facilities listed above, the LRC houses a psycholinguistics lab with state of the art equipment, including:

   
 

EEG system for Event- Related Potential(ERP) Studies which measures
the brain's reaction to language stimuli

Head-mounted eye-tracker  which measures a subject's eye movement while reading
Other equipment available for use by researchers upon request
