2017 Convening of the Western Humanities Alliance

Both the Calgary Institute for the Humanities and a CIH Working Group, Energy in Society, have been successful in the latest funding competition of the University of Calgary VP International’s International Activities Grant program. 

Congratulations to CIH Postdoctoral fellow, Elena Dahlberg who has been awarded a grant from the Sweden-America Foundation. 

Energy in Society, a CIH Working Group, presents a talk by Norma Kassi, Director of Indigenous Collaboration at the Arctic Institute of Community-Based Research (AICBR)

Dr. Terry Mitchell, Professor at the Department of Psychology, Wilfrid Laurier University will give the second guest lecture in the CIH (Calgary Institute for the Humanities) Working Group ‘Beyond Petrocultures.’ The talk is entitled “Rights, Responsibilities, and Reconciliation: Understanding Free, Prior, and Informed Consent Across the Americas.”

We are pleased to announce that this issue of Perspectives contains an essay by Nancy Janovicek, Seeds of Knowledge: From Back-to-the-Land to Urban Gardening which was based on work undertaken during her time as a CIH Research Fellow.
