Other considerations

Students applying to Co-operative Education should also be aware of the following:

  • Students must be legally permitted to work in Canada. International students must obtain a Co-op Work Permit immediately after admission to the program to be eligible for work placements.

  • Students who are registered in combined degree programs can be eligible for Co-operative Education programs if one of the majors is in a faculty or department in which a Co-operative Education program is offered.

  • Students are advised to attend an Arts Co-op Information Session for details prior to applying to the program.  See CareerLink CS Event Calendar for details.  If unable to attend due to time conflicts, please contact to arrange an appointment with a Co-op Coordinator.

  • Transfer students from other universities will be considered for admission to the Co-operative Education program.

  • Students who apply October 15 normally start their first work term in spring/summer or fall of the following year.

  • Placements are not guaranteed.
