Emergency first aid equipment on campus

Recent changes to emergency first aid equipment provided on campus:
Bleed Control kits (containing gloves, dressings, and tourniquet) are now installed across campus inside Automated External Defibrillator (AED) cabinets. These kits are being implemented to improve capability to deal with mass trauma and as identified through the armed assailant emergency exercise this past June. Instructions for use of the Bleed Control kits are now provided in Standard First Aid training courses. Additionally, Mass Casualty Care kits are in the process of being installed in areas of high traffic on main campus, including the Olympic Oval — Kinesiology buildings link, Taylor Family Digital Library (main level) and MacEwan Student Centre. More information will be available on UCalgary's Campus Security and Emergency Management websites when these kits are in place.
