Canadian Centre for Research Analysis and Methods hosts third-annual Rocky Mountain Methodology Academy

Dr. Andrew Hayes is a Distinguished Research Professor at the Haskayne School of Business and the Department of Psychology and has been a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher for six consecutive years.
With a background in quantitative psychology, Hayes, PhD, has become a household name in the behavioural and health sciences as well as business schools, developing PROCESS macro, a software that makes data analysis easier for researchers. Along with his several notable accomplishments, Hayes serves as the director of the Canadian Centre for Research Analysis and Methods (CCRAM) housed at the University of Calgary. He helped establish CCRAM to provide training and an extra boost in knowledge for those looking to advance through their careers and stay up to date in their fields. The Centre offers a wide range of methodology courses and seminars both online and in-person, all year long.
During the summer, CCRAM offers fast-track in-person sessions at the Rocky Mountain Methodology Academy (RMMA) about data analysis and research design. Participants have the added benefit of socializing and exploring Calgary and surrounding areas while meeting new friends and colleagues from all around the world.
RMMA offers valuable networking opportunities
This year, CCRAM is all set to host the third annual RMMA from July 15-22, including a day trip to Banff at no additional cost. Each module is two days long and participants do not need to attend for full duration. RMMA is for graduate students, seasoned researchers, mid-career professionals and anyone wanting to modernize their research methodology while connecting with potential future collaborators.

Participants will get the chance to attend a day trip to Banff at no additional cost.
Interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and fields, engaging in face-to-face discussions, and building friendships and future collaborations are invaluable experiences. To facilitate these opportunities, RMMA organizes day trips to Banff during their sessions.
“Calgary is a great place to host an event such as this, as it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world,” says Hayes.
Experts share knowledge during RMMA
Experts and professors from across Canada will be teaching during RMMA, including Hayes. This year’s keynote address will be presented by Dr. Andrea Howard, PhD, from Carleton University along with a guest lecture on July 17 by Dr. Amanda K. Montoya, PhD, from the University of California.

Dr. Andrea Howard, PhD, from Carleton University will be this year's keynote speaker.
Howard’s work includes longitudinal methods and studying well-being and health-related behaviors in adolescence and the transition to adulthood, with an emphasis on special challenges facing university students and facing young people with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Montoya’s research interests, meanwhile, include mediation, moderation, conditional process models, structural equation modelling, measurement and meta-science.
“There are a lot of people in science, government and industry who will benefit from our classes and take something away that will be very useful in their work,” says Hayes.
Academy offers diverse range of courses
“RMMA is a great opportunity for participants because there are multiple courses offered,” says Dr. Jenny Godley, PhD, associate dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and sociology professor with UCalgary’s Faculty of Arts. “The classes are very small, so you get a lot of attention from the professors. You're really learning from people who are experts in the method that they're teaching and who are passionate about the method that they're teaching.”
