Dr. Mathew Ruguwa Becomes a Post-Doctoral Fellow for SSHRC-funded Project

Dr. Mathew Ruguwa recently became a post-doctoral fellow for the SSHRC Partnership Grant project “African Extractivism and the Green Transition” based at York University. He will be conducting research on the mining of critical minerals in Zimbabwe. Dr. Ruguwa defended his PhD thesis entitled “A Socio-Environmental History of Dispossession and Displacement in the Zimunya, Marange, and Bvumba (Chirara) Communities of Eastern Zimbabwe, 1920-2015” at the Department of History, University of Calgary in November 2021. He was supervised by Dr. Tim Stapleton.
