SCPA 501.18 Community Arts Activation Spring Course

Are you studying to be an educator, a performance-maker, a teaching-artist?  Then this course is for you! 

SCPA 501.18  Community Arts Activation Spring Course. 

SCPA in collaboration with Arts Commons is piloting this exciting new course where students will create a participatory community performance with family audiences for their inaugural Little Wonders Festival in May.  This course is perfect for anyone who wants to learn more about what it means to be a teaching-artist and is interested in creative practice in education, arts-infused learning and pedagogy. 

In conjunction with the course, students will be eligible to attend the Teaching-Artist Development Lab and Arts-Infused Education Summit as well as shadow a Teaching Artist in the schools.  The enhanced activities will all be hosted by Arts Commons. 

Prerequisites:  6 units in DRAMA, DANCE or MUSIC or consent of the school.
