Congratulations to the recipient of the Thelma Margaret Horte Memorial Fellowship!

• Dr. Petra Dolata, PhD, Associate Professor (History), Scholar in Residence (Calgary Institute for the Humanities)

Dr. Petra Dolata’s main focus for the Horte Fellowship will be exploring the work and influence of Dr. Ursula Franklin. The project is interested in comparing Ursula Franklin with Petra Kelly and thereby answering questions about what constitutes ecofeminist activism in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, how feminist and environmental movements and ideas connected transnationally and finally, how we give voice to these influential women activists through biographies and how we best tell their life stories.

This annual fellowship is established in memory of Thelma Margaret Horte who was committed to advancing the cause of women in society and equality in the workplace. Upcoming application deadline: March 17, 2025. Learn more and apply
