Faculty update: Feb. 2017

Wondering what our faculty members are up to? Here's a brief snapshot of some of the activities.


Dr. Laura Hynes presented "Enacting Social Justice: Transforming Vocal Arts Education" at the New Directions music education conference held at Michigan State University from February 16-19 with Dr. Keitha Lucas Hamann from the University of Minnesota

Music faculty member Rod Squance will be touring six different stops along the west coast of British Columbia, performing marimba and jazz vibraphone with pianists Marcel and Elizabeth Bergmann. The show is called "From Bach to Brubeck" and performances will include Surrey, Nanaimo, Duncan, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge and Chilliwack, BC.

Assistant professor Adam Bell has recently published two book chapters, "DIY Recreational Recording as Music Making" in The Oxford Handbook of Music Making and Leisureand "Music Therapy" in The Routledge Companion to Music, Technology, and Education.

Drama Chair April Viczko is the Lighting Designer for the Theatre Calgary production of Skylightby David Hare, running February 14 - 25.

Marie France Forcier and the 2017 Dance BFA cohort have been collaborating with Jean-Louis Bleau and the School's Chamber Choir over the last few months. The resulting performance, The Age of the Wolf, will be presented on Monday February 13 in the Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall, Rosza Centre, at 8pm
