Faculty Update: Feb. 2019


Jeremy Brown performs The Fabulous Flute on Feb. 1 at Lolita’s Lounge in Inglewood, together with alumni With alumni Gerry Hebert (BMus'90) and Kodi Hutchinson (BComm'95), pianist Jon Day and percussionist Robin Tufts.

Later this month, Brown will lecture and perform at the Washington State University School of Music. He will also travel to Gonzaga University in Spokane to lecture on the music of Henry Cowell, based on his new book The Wind Band Music of Henry Cowell.

Laura Hynes was a guest clinician and teacher for the Mount Royal University Vocal Academy on Jan. 21.

April Viczko is designing the costumes for Vertigo Theatre’s upcoming production of Might As Well Be Dead: A Nero Wolfe Mystery., directed by Haysam Kadri.

Next month, she will attend the Mid-America Theatre Conference in Cleveland, OH, with Christine Brubaker to present their work on antigone lives*. She will also attend the USITT Conference in Louisville, KY, to represent the University of Calgary for World Stage Designand to participate in a panel on pedagogy in Design and Technical Theatre.

In March, Emeritus Professor and Sessional Instructor Charles Foreman will perform in the Experiencing Villa-Lobos festival at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Later that month, he will perform a lecture recital “Debussy: Waterworks” for United Active Living at their Garrison Green location.
