Faculty update: Jan. 2017

Wondering what our faculty members are up to? Here's a brief snapshot of some of the activities.

Ensemble Resonance will perform Allan Bell's a great arch softening the mountains (for voice, bass clarinet, violin, piano and electronic media) at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City on January 26.

Detour de Force soprano duo (faculty member Laura Hynes and her teacher/mentor Audrey Luna) performed When I Lay Me Down to Sleep on January 14th in the Eckhardt-Gramatté Recital Hall.

SCPA Director Bruce Barton and Drama and Dance Assistant Professor Pil Hansen are the core members of Vertical City, an interdisciplinary performance troupe. This month Vertical City brings its award-winning production Trace to the High Performance Rodeo. For the Rodeo, Vertical City is reimagining its site-specific production within the No. 1 Canadian Legion in downtown Calgary. Trace received citations for Outstanding Production, Direction, and Ensemble when it premiered at Toronto's SummerWorks Festival in 2014, and runs January 12 – 14 in this year's HPR in Calgary.
