Faculty update: March 2017

Wondering what our faculty members are up to? Here's a brief snapshot of some of the activities.


Dance faculty Melanie Kloetzel's film The Dwindling Dispute (with cinematography by Jennifer Mahood) will be featured in Arts Commons' Broadcast Lab from March 2 - May 25, 2017

Music faculty Jeremy Brown will be performing at the Noiseborder Festival at the University of Windsor on March 17, and will also be lecturing on his book, Henry Cowell: A Man Made of Music, at the University of Michigan 

Dance and Drama professor Pil Hansen published "An earned presence: studying the effect of multi-task improvisation systems on cognitive and learning capacity." Connection Science, vol. 29, no.1, 2017, pp. 77-93. with Robert Oxoby.

Bruce Barton traveled to Toronto over Reading Week to provide dramaturgy to the next mainstage production choreographed by the celebrated Allen Kaeja of Kaeja d'Dance. The work, entitled DEFIANT, features seven of Toronto's finest young dancers as well as Kaeja d'Dance co-Artistic Director Karen Kaeja. It will be staged as part of the new Dance Card performance series recently launched by Toronto's Theatre Centre. This is Bruce's fourth creative collaboration with Kaeja d'Dance; he will return to Toronto for another week of creation in April.
