Alumna Mackenzie Bergstrom (Phd'15) and several department members publish new article

"The nutritional importance of invertebrates to female Cebus capucinus imitator in a highly seasonal tropical dry forest" published in American Journal of Physical Anthropology.

Congratulations to alumna Mackenzie Bergstrom (Phd’15) and department co-authors (Jeremy Hogan, Amanda Melin, Linda Fedigan) on the publication of their latest article: “The nutritional importance of invertebrates to female Cebus capucinus imitator in a highly seasonal tropical dry forest”.

This latest paper examines white-faced capuchin diets with regards to the timing, types, and amount of invertebrate consumption by females. The results indicate that the protein and energy intake from vertebrates by females is critical for their needs especially during periods of lower fruit availability and when they are lactating.
