Call for Art Supply Donation

DO YOU HAVE ART SUPPLIES THAT YOU NO LONGER NEED OR USE?

The Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre (KOAC) is grateful for your donations of gently-used to new-condition art supplies for their Art Supply Supply Event which will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2022, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Historic Firehall #1 (555 1 Street SE, Calgary).

ACCEPTABLE DONATION ITEMS:

DRAWING AND SKETCHING SUPPLIES

PENCILS :
In sets or as-new condition singles. Gently used to as-new condition.
Graphite Pencils Charcoal, Coloured pencils, Conte and other mixed media drawing pencils

PASTELS:
In sets or as-new condition singles. Good to as-new condition.
Chalk pastels, Oil pastels, Conte Charcoal, Crayon, sticks, pencil or pots

INKS AND INK MARKERS:
As-new condition
Drawing Inks in original sealed container
Primacolour or Copic Markers and Ink Refills – In singles or sets

ARCHIVAL INK DRAWING MARKERS AND PENS:
Good to as-new condition
Sets and singles, New condition archival ink – brands such as Faber Castell, Tombow, Sakura, Copic, Pentel

DRAWING TOOLS:
Gently used to as-new condition
Calligraphy pens, Ruling pen, French curve, Compass, Set squares, T squares, Erasers in new condition, Electric pencil sharpener, Hand pencil sharpener, Overhead projector

DRAWING SURFACES:
As-new condition
Paper – archival, Artist paper bound in pads, Sketchpads and books, Large loose sheets must be in as new condition, in original packaging or wrapped with watermark of brand- no larger than 42 inches

PORTFOLIOS AND ART CARRIER BAGS:
Good to as-new condition

PRINTMAKING TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
Good to as-new condition
Silk screen frames, Printmaking plates and stones, Water and Oil-based printing inks

PAINTING SUPPLIES

PAINT:
Gently-used to as-new condition. Artist quality paints in sealed original containers.
Linseed, Walnut oil, Safflower oil, Poppyseed oil, Water mixable oils Alkaloid Acrylics Wax based Encaustic Watercolours

PAINTING MEDIUMS:
Gently-used to as-new condition. Artist quality mediums.
Glazes, gesso, texturing and modeling mediums – absolutely no sparkles
Non- aerosol archival quality varnishes for all of above paint types Gesso

PAINTING SURFACES:
As new condition – no larger than 42 inches
Primed and unprimed artist quality stretched canvas panels – standard and gallery sized frames
Primed and unprimed artist quality Birch panels
Unstretched Canvas- primed or unprimed Sizes no smaller than 48 inches square
Painting stretchers – clean – no staples or paint call if oversize Primed and unprimed masonite painting boards
Watercolour paper blocks
All large sheet papers must have a watermark or be in original packaging

BRUSHES:
Good to as-new condition All types and sizes. Artist quality.

PAINT PALETTES:
Gently-used to as-new condition
Stay wet palettes
Disposable paper palettes
Clean ceramic and plastic palettes

PAINTING TOOLS AND KNIVES:
Gently-used to as-new condition
Rubber, Plastic and Metal Palette, painting, texturing knives

WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT:

Any soiled or very used condition materials
Paints that are dried up
Absolutely no sparkles
Spray paint, or any aerosols
Solvents or flammables of any kind
– acetone, turpentine, methyl hydrate, ethanol, lacquer thinner – etc
Sparkles, foils, fabrics or wool
Seasonal and one-off project kits
Dry pigment
Stenciling kits
Used painting surfaces.- canvases, canvas boards, wood panels
Art frames
Matt board
Glass
