Myriam Tremblay 2019 SSHRC Winner

CMSS congratulates Myriam Tremblay for receiving a 2019 SSHRC award with the following Master's thesis topic:

What happens to Canadian military members after their release from the Canadian Armed Forces? This question is difficult to answer in the Canadian context because limited research focuses on this question. My thesis aims to understand how members experience what is known as the “military-civilian transition” (MCT) when they leave the military and enter the civilian world as veterans. Through qualitative interviews with former members, this thesis aims to understand these experiences with a focus on how identity is negotiated throughout this process.
