SCPA EQUITY, DIVERSITY, INCLUSION and DECOLONIZATION Action Plan

The SCPA Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization Committee invites all students to participate in a Town Hall event to be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 12 p.m. in the Rozsa Centre Great Hall.

The focus of the Town Hall is a proposed Action Plan associated with Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization (EDID) at the SCPA. A copy of the draft plan has been distributed to all students via your ucalgary.ca email accounts. For those who did not receive the document by email, a copy can be secured by writing to scpa@ucalgary.ca. At the Town Hall we will describe the EDID-associated work that has been done within the SCPA over the past 18 months and we will discuss the current version of the plan.

We invite all students to review the draft that was distributed and to offer input in one or both of the following ways:

1. Attend the Town Hall on March 21st and share your thoughts, questions and suggestions. The Town Hall meeting will run approximately 90 minutes; however, we encourage all students to attend for however long their schedules permit. Students who cannot attend the event in-person can register to attend via Zoom by writing to Beth Violo at elizabeth.violo@ucalgary.ca. Beth will share the Zoom link information with all students who have registered on the morning of the Town Hall event.
2. Provide written input via email to scpa@ucalgary.ca by Friday, April 1st. All written input will be summarized anonymously for presentation at a meeting of the SCPA Council on April 8th. The summary will also be published on the "EDID @ the SCPA” webspace.
