Congratulations, Soo Bean Kim!

Congratulations to UCalgary History's SooBean Kim on successfully defending her SSHRC-funded MA Thesis. 

 “Performing Refuge: Negotiating Vietnamese Diasporic Identity” centres the lived experiences of people in the Vietnamese diaspora to question narratives of sanctuary in Canadian immigration policy and nationalist histories. 

SooBean is beginning her doctoral program at York University. She has been awarded SSHRC funding for her research on Pan-Asian queer history.
