Biography

My research delves into civil-military relations, particularly examining the militarization and justice transition in the aftermath of the Military Dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985). I analyze the enduring political influence of the military in post-redemocratization and its impact on contemporary society, specifically focusing on public policies related to public safety and policing.

I am also a proud Graduate Scholar at the University of Calgary's Graduate College, a community of scholars from varied backgrounds who are dedicated to fostering connections between the University and the communities it serves. As part of this group, I contribute to promoting scholarship, leadership, and transdisciplinary opportunities and discussions.
