How to apply for graduate studies

Get onto the path to your next degree in Classics and Religion with these steps.

Getting ready

Follow these steps before you apply for grad studies. Admissions to graduate programs are highly competitive, as there are a limited number of spaces. There is no general right of admission, so it's best to be as prepared as possible.

Before you start

Ensure you meet admission requirements for the Faculty of Graduate Studies and your program.

Preparing

Plan 2 to 6 months to prepare required documents. International students may need longer.

Deadline

Your online application and all application components must be received by January 15 to be considered for September admission.

The reference deadline is January 15. 

Decisions are sent to applicants by the end of February.

Department requirements

In order to be admitted into a graduate program at the University of Calgary you must meet the minimum admission standards for both the Faculty of Graduate Studies and the program to which you wish to apply.
