Felix successfully defended his thesis on June 9, 2022. His committee members included Dr. Trevor Tombe (Supervisor), Dr. Eugene Beaulieu (Committee Member), Dr, Kunio Tsuyuhara (Committee Member), Dr. Aamir Hashmi (Internal Examiner), Dr. Arvind Magesan (Neutral Chair), and Dr. Runjuan Liu (External Examiner).
