Summer 2021 Internships in Regulatory Economics
The Department of Economics at the University of Calgary is pleased to announce this call for applications for summer 2021. Students interested in pursuing summer employment opportunities in regulatory economics and industrial organization are invited to submit applications. The placements are typically full time for four months (May through August). Duties, remuneration, and length of placement are typically negotiated with the sponsoring firm/organization. Firms and
organizations that have participated in this program include the Alberta Electric System Operator, Alliance Pipeline, the Analysis Group (Montreal), ATCO, Department of Energy (Alberta), Alberta's Market Surveillance Administrator (Electricity), Capital Power, Chymko Consulting, ENMAX, Enbridge, EPCOR, Kinder Morgan, the Canada Energy Regulator and its predecessor the National Energy Board, TransCanada Energy and TransCanada Pipelines, the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), the Utilities Consumer Advocate (UCA), and Telus. Students are often able to leverage their internship into full time employment in regulatory economics. This is the 22nd year of the program.
