Understanding and Reducing Inequality in Education

Dr. Susan M. Dynarski explores troubling increases in inequality in educational attainment and achievement. Potential explanations are examined, as well as
promising, evidence-based policies to shrink the divide.
Susan M. Dynarski is a professor of public policy, education, and economics at the University of Michigan and co-director of the Education Policy Initiative and the Michigan Education Data Center, both housed at the Ford School. Dr. Dynarski is also a faculty research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and past president at the Association for Education Finance and Policy.
