Biography

Ozinna Ntukogu is a graduate student in the Department of History. He obtained his bachelor's degree in History and his master's degree in Military History where he studied and researched military operations of the Nigerian Civil War. He is currently a PhD student studying African and African-American History, with primary interest in the colonial military history of Africa. He is currently working with Dr. Timothy Stapleton on a project that aims to systematically study the British conquest of Southern Nigeria within the first two decades of the Twentieth Century. This study will examine the military operations of the British expeditionary forces in Southern Nigeria, the indigenous resistance they encountered, the outcome of these operations and how these colonial episodes and experiences transformed the life of the people and continue to shape developments in present day Nigeria. Ozinna also works with Dr. Harvey Amani Whitfield in his secondary field of African-American History.
