National Call for Artists: Public Artwork for Airdrie Multi-Use Facility and Library
Hello,
My name is Ardyn Gibbs, and I am a Public Art Assistant at STEPS Public Art.
STEPS Public Art and the City of Airdrie are reaching out to share an exciting public art opportunity for Artists/Artist Teams from across Canada. While this is a national call we strongly encourage regional and local artists to apply. We are seeking applications for a public artwork(s) to be installed within and around the forthcoming Airdrie Multi-Use Facility Library.
Project Overview:
- Budget: $390,000 CAD (inclusive of artwork, fees, installation and all project expenses)
- Process: Two-Stage Selection Process
- Eligibility: Artists/Artist Teams from across Canada
This call will consist of a Two Stage selection process:
- Stage 1: Request for Qualifications.
- Stage 2: Shortlisted Proposal Development and Presentation.
Up to four (4) Artists/Artist Teams will be shortlisted based on their applications and paid a fee of $4,000 CAD each to create detailed proposals. Community engagement will be a requirement for the final selected artist/artist team and should be described in the detailed proposals.
Requests for qualifications are due January 4, 2024 at 11:59 PM MST. To access the complete application guidelines and submission details, please visit our website here.
For any questions or additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out to Public Art Manager, Collin Zipp, at collin@stepspublicart.org. Please “reply all” to this email and to any future correspondence as one of my colleagues may reply.
We encourage you to share this opportunity with anyone who may be interested in participating in this project.
Warm regards,
Ardyn Gibbs
