Topics Courses: Fall 2025
The history and theory of video art, via examination of significant works in the field, as well as important concepts from related fields.
An in-depth investigation of significant tendencies in the art of the 1960s, with a particular focus on their political and economic contexts.
This course explores contemporary art practice that is engaged with issues of social justice, equity, and political mobilization.
This course explores approaches to interdisciplinary art practice focused on climate change, as both a thematic and a guiding methodology.
The game design process will be explored, including a history of video games, genres, game mechanics, design documents, and a summary of the development process. The focus will be on design, rather than development, and the artistic and creative assets, rather than the software. Students will design a game and will create a playable prototype. The principles will be applicable to other sorts of games, and to media art in general.
Through an understanding of printmaking as a discipline grounded in multiplicity, repetition, and transfer, this course will allow students to develop multiples in an interdisciplinary setting.

An introduction to visual literacy, ultimately providing students with the skills and language to be able to speak about and interpret various art forms.
Advanced studio inquiry into painting developing students' foundational, technical and conceptual skills. Deeper exploration of painting will enable research creation directed toward self-generated practice.
