Every year, the Calgary Institute for the Humanities supports three annual fellowships, a graduate student fellowship, postdoctoral fellows, visiting scholars, and interdisciplinary working groups. This year's fellows are researching such diverse topics as the pre-Lenten celebrations and origins of Brazilian carnival, characterizations of Nirvāṇa in Sixth-Century China, Indigenous kinship and Métis identity at Red River, visual art and surveillance in Canada after 2001, and the hi/story of Two-Spirit / Indigiqueer peoples.
