Biography

Abby Landon is a Master of Arts in Geography student at the University of Calgary under the supervision of Dr. Marit Rosol. Her current research goals focus on the relationship between scalar food systems in ethnically diverse communities, in order to understand how various scalar options may work in tandem to support the objectives of various groups within society. Due to growing re-localization food movements and increasing ethnic diversity in populations worldwide, the dynamics of interplay between these two trends carry implications both within Canada and globally.

Prior to starting her graduate studies, Abby utilized her international experience and development studies background to support students gain experiential and ethically-critical education opportunities in international 'classrooms'. She enjoys volleyball, developing her gardening green-thumb, and exploring Calgary's extensive bike-path networks.
