Biography

Amanda Bryant’s philosophical research concerns the naturalization of metaphysics, i.e. making metaphysics accountable to science. She has written on the epistemological deficiencies of non-naturalized metaphysics (or ‘free range metaphysics’ as she has termed it), the positive rationale for naturalization, naturalism-adjacent positions such as scientism and physicalism, and naturalistic modal epistemology. By day, she works on energy and climate policy, with a focus on policy solutions for oil and gas methane emissions. She received her PhD from The Graduate Center, CUNY.
