MA in Philosophy, thesis-based
Join one of Canada's most respected philosophy departments, with a strong placement record for both MA and PhD recipients.
Master of Arts (MA), thesis-based
Thesis-based programs require that you pursue independent and original research culminating in a thesis. You will work under the supervision of a faculty member whose expertise matches your research area.
The MA program at UCalgary is ideally set up to help prepare people to enter into PhD programs, which is in large part due to the supportive faculty and staff. I loved the department lounge, where you could always find someone willing to talk philosophy, or play a game of cribbage. It's such a supportive and open department.
