What are False Models Good For? Lessons from a Case Study in Economics
Ahmed Al-Juhany awarded 2023 Richard Hadden Prize
UCalgary Philosophy PhD student Ahmed Al-Juhany was awarded the 2023 Richard Hadden Prize by the Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science (CSHPS) in May for his paper, “What are False Models Good For? Lessons from a Case Study in Economics.”
The Hadden Prize is awarded to the best two student papers presented at CSHPS’s annual conference. The other student, Angella Yamamoto from the University of Waterloo, was awarded the Prize for her paper, “Operationalization of Scientific Realism/Anti-realism Accounts for Semi- Structured Interviews.”
