Departmental graduate awards and scholarships:


Best Graduate Paper:

For the best paper written for a graduate course in the Department of Political Science, open to both masters and doctoral students in any area of Political Science.

Best Political Science MA Thesis:

For the best Master’s thesis defended in the Department of Political Science, open to any area of Political Science.

Best Political Science Doctoral Dissertation:

For the best Doctoral dissertation defended in the Department of Political Science, open to any area of Political Science.

Michael A. Jensen Memorial Master’s Scholarship:

This scholarship is for a registered full-time student completing an MA in the Department of Political Science.

Students must have completed the first year of the program with a minimum GPA of 3.70 in their first year. Students must also submit a one-page summary of whose actions that reflect a commitment for social justice and equality, engagement within the community and/or participation in political activities.

The value of the Scholarship is $1,500.

Students interested in the award should consult the Department of Political Science. A recommendation will be forwarded to the Graduate Scholarship Office. The recommendation is subject to the final approval of the Graduate Scholarship Committee.
