Directing II is a continuation of the theories and techniques of Directing I with an emphasis on the practical application of working with text and actors. 

In this course, you’ll direct your own scene and collaboratively direct a one act play.

To be apply, please submit one (1), two-hander scene (no more than ten minutes).

You are welcome to select a scene from any genre, though I encourage you to submit something Canadian and contemporary. 

Briefly describe what interests you in the scene and your approach

ie: either from a conceptual standpoint or through style/ tone, or simply if there are particular challenges within the piece that interest you.

No more than 200 words. 

As well, please describe what you think your strengths are as an artist, theatre maker or director and what are your weaknesses. 

No more than 300 words.  

Please note, this course is very demanding. During peak presentation times you will be expected to rehearse between 5-15 hours a week outside of class time.

You will also be expected to conduct auditions and collaborate on casting. Superior organizational and communication skills essential.
