Bachelor of Music
The Bachelor of Music (BMus) degree is designed to prepare you for a professional career in music, either as a performer, teacher, composer, theorist, historian or critic.
Put your education to work
As a Bachelor of Music graduate, you'll be prepared for career opportunities in areas such as performance, education, arts management, and audio production and design. Your degree can also be used as a stepping-stone to graduate studies or another professional degree such as law, medicine or veterinary medicine.

BMus auditions
After submitting a general application to the University of Calgary Admissions Office, you must submit a BMus audition application form to assist us in scheduling an audition, as well as informing the division of your past musical experience/abilities.

Looking to build your music skills in a comprehensive and flexible music degree? Gain broad musical knowledge (e.g. equal parts history, performance and theory and composition) or combine two or more areas of musical study (e.g. performance and composition, music and technology, performance and early music studies).
BMus in Performance
Focus your degree on developing a professional career as a performing singer or instrumentalist.
