The Associate Dean (Communities) provides academic leadership and serves as a connection point for—and bridges to—the broader community, facilitating and navigating community engagement at UCalgary.
Leadership activities are focused on building and strengthening Faculty relationships with external communities and partners.
- Build and maintain community, alumni and external partnerships
- Facilitate community-engaged research and collaborative projects with external partners
- Develop annual community-facing events that highlight research and teaching excellence
- Connect alumni with Faculty research, student mentorship, and community projects
- Develop work-integrated learning opportunities through industry and community connections
- Provide administrative coordination for engagement initiatives
