The University of Calgary is proud to establish a prestigious new scholarship honouring the legacy of the Rt. Hon. Stephen J. Harper, distinguished UCalgary alum, acclaimed economist and 22nd Prime Minister of Canada.
The Rt. Hon. Stephen J. Harper Scholarships in Economics celebrate his profound contributions to public policy and national governance, which positioned Canada as a trusted authority in the global economic landscape. Harper has long credited his University of Calgary education — earning his Bachelor of Arts (Econ) in 1985 and Master of Arts (Econ) in 1991 — as giving him a strong foundation for a truly remarkable career.
