Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Grant

These grants will support research projects that focus on issues of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility broadly conceived. We invite projects that center around problems and opportunities in all areas of the humanities, visual, creative and performing arts, as well as social sciences in investigating issues of EDIA within the fabric of our culture and society. EDIA-focused research projects may also extend their impact through tailored knowledge engagement activities. Up to $15,000 per grant is available. A well-developed EDIA research grant can strengthen a New Frontiers in Research Fund applications where EDIA considerations are a requirement.

The Faculty of Arts encourages applications that reflect the diversity of its research, scholarship, and creative enterprise, and it encourages applicants from equity-deserving groups.

Grant conditions

  • The proposed project cannot be already supported through any other funding program,
  • 24-month award,
  • Previous EDIA grant holders can re-apply for this grant every three years, e.g. if you successfully applied in the 2021 competition, you are eligible to apply for another EDIA grant in the 2024 competition.

Reporting requirements

  • A final report on activities and outputs (up to 5 pages, including attachments).
  • Subsequent applications will be ineligible without a final report for the previous award.
