Associate Dean, Academic, Faculty of Arts

Melissa Boyce, PhD

The associate dean academic oversees the undergraduate programs in the arts and provides leadership in the areas of curriculum review, admissions, and enrollment management at the faculty and university levels.

She serves as the Chair of the Curriculum and Academic Review Committee.

  • Mentor and lead departments/units regarding undergraduate enrollment and program goals
  • Establish and foster achievable indicators of undergraduate program ‘success’ 
  • Develop criteria for the creation, inventory, and monitoring of undergraduate programs
  • Provides leadership in undergraduate academic program matters and opportunities consistent with the strategic priorities of the Faculty and University
  • Provides leadership in undergraduate educational program development and implementation
  • Provide guidance for the development of new initiatives and programs in accordance with identified Arts strengths and priorities coordinating with the strategic enrollment planning
  • Liaise with the Office of the Registrar and Departments to ensure appropriate enrolment management
