Associate Dean (Teaching, Learning and Student Engagement)

The Associate Dean (Teaching, Learning and Student Engagement) provides strategic leadership for the Faculty of Arts in areas related to teaching and learning, as well as student engagement activities including retention and recruitment.

She supports course instructors and teaching assistants in pedagogical development and innovation while collaborating with student leaders to enhance student engagement and learning initiatives.

Duties and responsibilities

Overseeing student recruitment and engagement to enhance retention and success.
Developing, promoting, implementing and evaluating initiatives to improve teaching effectiveness and student learning.
Advancing evidence-based, impactful teaching practices and scholarship of teaching and learning.
Supporting alignment between teaching policies and procedures and faculty and university strategic priorities
Gathering student feedback and data to enhance educational experiences.
Identifying and supporting nominees and applicants for teaching awards and grants.
Overseeing group study programs, co-op and interdisciplinary programs.
