Call for Artists - Shaw Pride Marches On

Shaw, in partnership with Calgary Pride, The City of Calgary, and Calgary Arts Development, is looking for four 2SLGBTQ+ or BIPOC artists or artist teams with public art experience to create four temporary art mural installations (one mural per artist/artist team) at the four corner entrances to Memorial Park in celebration of Calgary Pride's B!G Pride Week (August 27 to September 6, 2021).

This is a paid opportunity and the call is open to established and emerging artists and artist teams, especially in the 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, who have mural painting experience.

Selected artists will be asked to submit a 250 word description and rough illustration of their proposed work. Mural installation will take place on Thursday, August 19, to go live a week before the first day of Calgary Pride Week.

Deadline for Submissions: Friday, July 9, 2021
Artists Contacted: Wednesday, July 21, 2021
Payment: $5,000 per artist or artist team
