Call for submissions: First Annual Faculty of Arts holiday card
The Office of the Dean, Faculty of Arts, invites interested undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Faculty of Arts to submit original artworks for consideration for the First Annual Faculty of Arts holiday card.
This is an opportunity to have an original work of art, photograph or design featured on the Faculty of Arts 2023 holiday card that will be printed and distributed digitally.
Interested Faculty of Arts students are encouraged to submit up to two pieces for consideration.
Eligibility: Current Faculty of Arts students only (confirmed and in good standing).
Entry Requirements: Submit up to two pieces for consideration.
Themes: Artworks should align with one or more Faculty of Arts strategic priorities:
- Justice, Equity and Transformation
- Connection, Community and Culture
- Digital Universe
- Health and Wellness Climate
- Energy and Sustainability
Submission Deadline: Deadline is Friday, Nov. 3, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.
Selection: The chosen work will be selected by a committee consisting of the Dean; Director, Communications and Marketing; Director of Development; Director, Calgary Institute for the Humanities
Notification to Artist: The successful student will be notified that their work has been selected and will be required to sign a release form authorizing their work to be printed and digital distributed.
Artwork requirements: Must be an original artwork or photograph or design created while enrolled as a student within the Faculty of Arts. May include photography, paintings, drawings, illustrations, sculptures, installations, multi-media pieces, and other similar mediums that can be reproduced on a printed card. To be supplied in approved digital format.
Format: High-resolution jpeg (file size above 1MB)
Artist Fee & Creative Licence: The student of the chosen work will be awarded $300. Full credit will be given to the chosen student for their work. All artwork remains the property of the student artist.
Promotion: The Faculty of Arts plans to promote the chosen holiday design digitally through email, newsletters, and Faculty of Arts social media channels.
