Remembering Anita Li
“Anita was the External Examiner for my PhD Oral Examination in 1986 while I was at the University of Alberta and from that time I developed a very good relationship with her which was extended by her mentorship of me and support for me when I came to the University of Calgary in 1988 as a newly appointed Assistant Professor within the Faculty of Education. In addition to taking a committed approach to her personal and professional life and being passionate about her work, she was also very kind, warm, and gracious! She interacted with people in an insightful and compassionate manner. She was proactive and value driven. She was also principled and trustworthy. She always displayed personal integrity along with respect for others. She interacted with others with rationality and empathic reciprocity. Anita was very personable and professional. Those who knew her along with myself will miss her and we will be reminded of her by way of our past positive associations and her generous Anita K.F. Li Graduate Scholarship for graduate students within Educational Psychology at the University of Calgary”
