New faculty member Dr. Lindsay Amundsen-Meyer brought a couple graduate students with her to revisit a number of archaeological sites in Pine Coulee, near Claresholm AB just over a week ago. PhD students Jeremy Leyden and Matthew Moors joined Amundsen-Meyers for the day trip to both meet with landowners and also check up on any changes at the sites. Both Leyden and Moors are working on doctoral projects focussing on Plains Archaeology.

Meeting with stakeholders builds relations and lets us learn new things about the land and sites present, as well as foster interest in the heritage of the Province. While there, the group were able to visit several known sites to assess their condition, including one pictograph site which may commemorate the story of Napi and the First Marriage.
