Prerequisite Waive Request
Prerequisite waives are rarely granted by the Department of Economics. Economics is a discipline that builds off of a set of core concepts and skills honed in lower-level courses. Without successfully completing those pre-requisites first, you will struggle in courses that build on those concepts. You will need to explain what extenuating circumstances you think qualifies you for a prerequisite waive. “I don’t want to take ECON 395 first” or “I got a D in MATH 249, just let me proceed” are not valid reasons for a prerequisite waive. We will not grant a prerequisite waive if you are on academic probation.
