Dr. Anthony Sayers

Dr. Anthony Sayers’ research looks at how central institutions such as parties, electoral systems, legislatures, and federalism shape the political dimensions on which Canadian diversity is expressed and the public policies that underpin an inclusive civic culture. His work From Chaos to Cohesion: How Single Member Electoral Districts Shape Political Representation in Canada demonstrates that political parties are the pre-eminent mechanism for transmitting the diverse interests of Canadians to the state and choosing, once in government, which of those interests gain access to public resources.
