Dr. Saulesh Yessenova

Dr. Saulesh Yessenova researches cultural registers of nuclear embodiment generated during the Cold War.  She is particularly interested in cultural critique of hegemonic values produced during the Cold War found in local articulations of global forms (such ‘nuclear security,’ ‘nuclear threat,’ and ‘radiation’) in everyday life, politics, research, and the arts.
