Professor Edmond Agopian

In support of the Black Lives Matter movement, Professor Edmond Agopian has undertaken research in the area of Black composers who wrote in the Classical music vein. This research culminated in a concert titled A Celebration of Music by Black Composers, which was presented and livestreamed on October 2nd, 2020 at the Rozsa Centre and another titled A Celebration of Music by Black Composers II on June 29, 2021. The programme consisted of works by ten Black composers, ranging from the 19th century to present day. A third concert, A Celebration of Music by Black Composers III is scheduled for November 19, 2021.
